Citysightseeing Padua

This charming university town, the ancient “city of water” can now be discovered with CitySightseeing Padova.

On board our funny red bus travel around the ancient walls and over the bridges that have witnessed many historical battles and go in search of that knowledge and culture that made 12th century Padua one of Italy’s most famous university cities.
Prato della Valle will amaze you with its monumental size, it is in fact one of the largest squares in Europe, second only to Moscow’s Red Square. It consists of a central green island, surrounded by a canal adorned with numerous statues depicting famous characters from the past, it is one of the most famous symbols of Padua.
All around the city the famous arcades shelter tourists and visitors from the heat of summer, and allow them to continue to browse the shops before stopping for a drink or a coffee at the prestigious Café Pedrocchi, a historic café founded in 1916.
Padua is famous around the world for the basilica traditionally known as “The Saint” which houses the relics of St. Anthony, and it attracts millions of devotees every year. The impressive complex of the Franciscan basilica dedicated to the saint is also home to famous works of art, including three paintings by Titian.
How could we not mention the famous Scrovegni Chapel, which draws the attention of hundreds of tourists eager to discover the ancient colors of the long gone Middle Ages that are jealously guarded by this lovely casket entirely hand painted by Giotto.
During the summer, CitySightseeing Padova also offers the opportunity to combine a bus tour with the tour on a boat that resembles an ancient Venetian peota, and that will take you along the canals of this fascinating city.
The captain glides the boat and guides you through the secrets of the flora and fauna that inhabitthe waters, giving lucky visitors a unique glimpse of this fascinating world.
